A 60,000 repair to a section of Trunk 3 on Highway 3 in Arcadia should begin toward the end of August or early Fall.
That’s the latest update this week from the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (TIR).
Yarmouth MLA Zach Churchill says it will result in a much smoother ride for motorists.
“I’m told by the specialists at TIR that they’re going to do a good job there, they’re going to dig it up and deal with the old issues under that road that are causing this problem.”
Some people have told Y95 News the section is referred to as a corduroy road or log road, a made years ago by placing logs, perpendicular to the direction of the road.
The section has been described as like riding on an accordion or washboard.
