Many posts to social media thanked all the organizers and volunteers of the three-day event and expressed how much fun was had and how important the JStrong Fund is to the community.
Spokesperson Steve Berry was elated.
“Oh, another great year. Well beyond expectations. 27 teams registered all the fields in Yarmouth booked up.”
“We’re all about giving back to groups who help our community”, said Berry.
The JStrong Tournament donated its portion of a 50/50 draw, $277, to the Gilles Boudreau and friends Cancer Support Network.
Berry couldn’t thank all the volunteers enough, including a core of 5 or 6 people that oversee the committee.
“So many volunteers. Umpires, barbecuers, canteen volunteers, local businesses that donated. We’ve all had a hand in making sure that kids can access sports. We’re just really happy that, at the end of the day, this is our fourth year and we’re happy to say that we’ve raised over $50,000 from this tournament alone. We’re lucky that we have support from throughout the community.”
