The Western Nova Scotia Exhibition is coming up soon.
The Ex takes place at Mariners Centre over 5 days beginning Wednesday Tuesday July 30.
The past president of the Yarmouth Agricultural Society, Amy Rose says there’s some new attractions this year.
“Sheriff Monster Truck is coming, it holds 8 people on the back, they’re going to be offering ride for $5. There will also be a circus act in the main arena.”
There will be the traditional and popular events like the oxhauls and light horse and mini horse classes as well as the truck pulls and ATV drag races.
For thrill seekers who enjoy the rides, the Scrambler, Hurricane and Zero Gravity are back. For the kids there’s the Apple Go Round, Kiddie Swing, Mini Ferris Wheel. Of course there’ll be carnival games and lots of food vendors.
The Western Nova Scotia Exhibition is celebrating its 160th anniversary.
On Tuesday July 30, the admission is a donation to Yarmouth County 4-H. The midway and the inside arenas will not be open to the public on that day. Activities will be mostly centered around the outside arena.
The Western Nova Scotia Exhibition is celebrating its 160th year and Rose says they’ve planned something special to mark the occasion.
“We actually put together a commemorative dairy industry booklet for Yarmouth County, so we’re releasing that during the exhibition as well.”
