The incidents began July 20 when Leopold allegedly stole a cell phone and prescription medication from a woman in Oakland, Lunenburg County.
He also smashed in the windows of her home and fled on foot.
July 23, he allegedly assaulted a man in New Ross, striking him in the head with his fists, attempting to choke him, and then pushed him down a flight of stairs.
He then fled police on foot again when they attempted to arrest him.
On July 24, two break-ins were reported in New Ross, where the suspect entered the homes and stole electronics, identification, and cash.
Later that day another break and enter occurred in a New Ross home, where the suspected allegedly entered the residence and stole a pick up truck.
A police officer on patrol in the area noticed the truck being driven erraticaly and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The driver, believed to be Leopold, fled into the woods and could not be located by police despite use of a K-9 Unit.
The truck was examined by Forensic Identification technicians and led police to Leopold again.
Finally Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious person walking along Highway 14 in Robinson’s Corner.
Police discovered it was Leopold, who was disoriented.
He was arrested without incident and taken to a hospital for examination.
When asked whether or not the man had spent the night in the woods following his flee from police, Corporal Jennifer Clarke, media relations for the RCMP, said that is something they are looking into as the investigation continues.
He was held in custody overnight and appeared Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 26 and was remanded and scheduled to return to court on August 23.
The investigation is ongoing.
