The Municipality of Argyle will revisit the design of its new administration building.
Recent tenders for it came in higher than what council had budgeted for and Wild salt Architecture has recommended changing the tender process.
Argyle CAO Alain Muise says they have some work to do.
“We will be re-looking at the design in order to make sure that the design is in fact within budget parameters.”
Muise says they have some decisions to make once the final report comes in from the architect.
“Certainly, the idea of ‘net zero’ is still on the table. I think there’s other adjustments that will and can be made in order to bring this thing around to budget.”
The cost of construction was originally close to $4 million.
The municipality wants energy required to operate the building to be sourced 100% from renewable sources.
