The mayor of Shelburne says while she’s pleased with the new two-lane Roseway Bridge, it has created an issue.
Karen Mattatall says speeding has become an increasing problem.
She raised the issue at a town council meeting last night.
“Speeding has become more of a problem since the new bridge has been placed there because it’s a two-lane bridge so I guess it’s a little bit easier to drive faster so it’s a concern.”
Mayor Mattatall says council would like to have rumble strips installed to help slow down vehicles.
She says the RCMP are watching traffic more closely on the Roseway Bridge.
While construction of the bridge was a provincial initiative, the town line is right at the river near Falls Lane.
