The MP for West Nova says good relations between Canada and the United States are important. But Colin Fraser says it’s difficult dealing with President Donald Trump and his administration. Fraser says the current trade war between the two countries is a good example. He says it’s necessary for Canada to impose retaliatory tariffs in hopes affected American interests will lobby the Trump administration to end its trade battle with Canada. And, a local swim-coach is retiring after 45 years. Ginny Smith has been at the pool at the YMCA in Yarmouth everyday, and has coached hundreds of youth over the years. Smith says she is retiring to spend more time with her husband and family. Smith is in our studio this morning to talk about her career and reflect on memories that made her time as coach of the Whitecaps so special.
