The third annual Mariners Ribfest gets underay tomorrow.
Once again, Marginal Wharf in Yarmouth will be the venue.
There’ll be a carnival-like atmosphere with more attractions, including bouncy castles for the kids, a pub and casino for the adults and much more.
Organizer Keith Condon says there will be a $5 daily charge.
“It comes with a bracelet, but anyone who wants to just come down and do take-out or just come in for ribs it’s free. The only thing it won’t get them is a bracelet which gets them into the evening entertainment and some of the entertainment on the grounds and of course they’re expensive and we had no choice.’
Water Street will be closed off to accommodate the rides for the kids.
Condon says Ribfest is also a fundraiser run by the Yarmouth Mariners Jr. A hockey club and groups like Yarmouth Life Skills, 4-H, Yarmouth County Minor Hockey, 4-H and the South West Nova ATV Club will benefit.
A section of Water Street between Brown Street and the entrance to the ferry terminal will be closed to traffic during Ribfest where the carnival area with large blowup rides will be set up.
A parking area will be set up near the south gate to accommodate handicapped parking.
Ribfest runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Y95 CJLS will be on location Friday from 3 to 6.
