Yarmouth’s Bryan Hipson had another solid finish at the Bluenose Marathon in Halifax Sunday.
The defending champ placed third overall with a time at just over two hours and 53 minutes.
Hipson was running in the age 50-59 category, and placed first in that division. He says it was a tough race.
“Sometimes uphill, and 40 kilometre an hour wind. Wind can be quite a drag on your time, so nobody had a personal best that day.”
Still, Hipson says he is very pleased with the result.
He says he is also proud of his children Joey and Eveline who ran their first 5k at the event.
Hipson says he will take part in the 10k at the upcoming Yarmouth Marathon, and the Sheila Poole 10k this summer, a race he won last year.
Many from this area also took part in other races at Bluenose weekend.
Yarmouth’s Josh Cochrane sang the national anthem.
