An actor who played an iconic role on the big screen has passed away.
Sir Roger Moore, one of seven actors who portrayed James Bond, has died in Switzerland after a short battle with cancer.
In a statement posted on Twitter, his family said the affection the 89-year old felt from the public kept him working until his last performance in 2016.

Moore played the suave, sophisticated British Secret Agent James Bond in seven films from 1973 to 1985 including The Man With The Golden Gun, Moonraker, and A View To A Kill.
Moore is the longest serving James Bond actor, and contributed a unique sense of humour and selection witty one liners to the character.
He was also a UNICEF Ambassador, and his family said Moore considered his work for that organization to be his greatest achievement.
