The SPCA along with many local volunteers have been working hard to address the growing population of cats.
It’s an ongoing effort to make sure that the feline population is healthy.
In July the local organization Operation Cat SNIP dissolved and donated the balance of its assets, over $10,000.
Elizabeth Murphy of the Nova Scotia SPCA tells CJLS News they have also committed grant money in Yarmouth to make the services more accessible.
“Through these grants we are able to significantly subsidize the programs so the cost is very, very low. If there’s anybody in the community that you know of who has a cat and they might not be able to afford to get them spayed or neutered, they can give us a call.”
