The warden of the Municipality of Yarmouth says he’s confident in telling property and business owners that there will be no increase in either the residential or commercial tax rates this fiscal year.
Leland Anthony, who spoke with us during a break in today’s pre-budget session, says two projects for 2017-2018 are already in the budget.
An extension and repairs to the existing sidewalk in Hebron-Dayton and a major renovation project at the Cape Forchu Lightstation.
Warden Anthony says council is already moving on some other issues.
“We’ve put in an application in to the the federal government through WREN for rural broadband Internet.”
Anthony says staff and council should have the capital and operating budgets passed by May 24th.
