A seven year old Yarmouth boy had his wish granted today by the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Lucas Parent received a big surprise at the Castle Lake Campground in Melbourne, a brand new camping trailer.
Lucas was diagnosed with an antibody deficiency when he was just one year old, and has spent a lot of time at the IWK in Halifax.
His mother April says this will give Lucas the chance to be a kid again.
“This is a way for him to leave all aspects of hospital life, and just to come and have fun and play outside. He loves playing outside and with his siblings, so this is an amazing opportunity for him. He’s not always animated, but we can tell he’s excited.”
Lucas called the camping trailer ‘pretty cool’ upon seeing it for the first time.
The Children’s Wish Foundation says they have granted almost 1,200 wishes in Nova Scotia so far and are working on 90 more wishes currently.
