The 2018 Relay For Life was held at Mariners Centre in Yarmouth on Saturday.
Event organizer Myla Doucette says they’ve heard nothing but good things about the evening, which a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.
She says 118 cancer survivors were in attendance, and began the evening with the first lap around the track.
Doucette says they surpassed their fundraising goal.
“Our goal this year was set by the Canadian Cancer Society at $48,000. We are right around the $50,000 mark. We’re still waiting for some monies to come in from other events and corporate sponsorship.”
She says they’ll be close to $65,000 once everything is tabulated.
Doucette says it just shows how much this community supports each other.
