The third annual Mariners Ribfest is coming up next month in Yarmouth.
Once again, Marginal Wharf will play host to the event from July 6-8, and this time part of Water Street will also be blocked off.
Organizer Keith Condon says it will be a carnival like atmosphere with more attractions, including bouncy castles for the kids, a pub and casino for the adults and much more.
“We’re closing Water Street. We’ll be having two entrances. We’re going to be filling the street with carnival-like rides for the kids, inflatable rides, bouncy castles, cotton candy, snowcones and the like.”
It’s a fundraiser for the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners, and several other community groups.
HE says there was a significant increase in expenses last year, so they are charging admission for people 12 year of age and older.
“These ribbers come and their demands are to have the infrastructure, the power and the water and everything ready for them, and to have the venue. They do their own thing. They pay a small rent, which doesn’t come near to covering the cost.”
He says admission will be five dollars per day, and children 12 and under will get in for free.
You’ll also get a chance to win a $500 daily prize with your admission and get a chance to win a grand prize ride on tractor.
