Since the first Triple Crown win 99 years ago, it has only been claimed 13 times, the latest win coming only Saturday.
Justify, a three year old chestnut colt with a large white blaze on his forehead won all six of his races this year and claimed the elusive title after wins in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes.
Justify is only the second horse to win the Triple Crown with an undefeated record, and jockey Mike Smith became the oldest person to win the title at age 52.

The most well known Triple Crown win is Secretariat’s 1973 victory with New Brunswick jockey Ron Turcotte in the saddle.
Secretariat and Turcotte set records on all Triple Crown races that remain unbroken four and a half decades later.
