The second annual ‘Kids Run For Kids’ takes place this weekend in Yarmouth.
It will be held, beginning at 9am on Saturday from Meadowfields School.
There are three options for distances, one, two and four kilometres.
Organizer Bobby-Lou Reardon says student runners from this area used to go to the Bluenose Marathon each year.
“That hasn’t happened due to funding for a number of years. I’ve been interested in putting together a run just for kids, to have a season ending event just for them.”
It’s a fundraiser for Brigadoon Village.
Reardon says all students are welcome to attend, and hopes rain holds off, unlike last year.
Registration can be done at Meadowfields on the day of the run, or in advance at Runner’s Attic.
The first 60 people get a race t-shirt, and Reardon says volunteers are welcome.
