Next weekend, Yarmouth Life Skills for disabled adults will host their annual fundraising golf scramble at Yarmouth Links.
The tournament is accepting teams right up until the day of the event, Saturday June 2nd.
Sherry Robertson is the executive director of Yarmouth Life Skills.
Robertson says it’s a fun afternoon, and not about keeping score.
“We have excellent supporters in the community that have given us donations and prizes. We go out in the carts and we deliver sandwiches and cookies, take pictures, we just love it. The staff really enjoy it and they volunteer their time.”
Robertson says typically, they raise around $6,000 each year, and they are hoping to hit $10,000 this year.
“The more money we have, the more awesome programs that we can put on for them. This year, we want to do an overnight trip.”
She says the money goes to summer programs for the participants at Life Skills.
Robertson thanks the community and sponsors for supporting the event each year.
There’s also a chance to win $10,000 in the hole-in-one contest.
