A free hockey skills camp is on this weekend at Mariners Centre.
The J-STRONG Foundation provided the funds for the camp for kids aged 10-12.
About 40 players are taking the ice this weekend, all in the name of fun.
Organizer Kirby Maillet says it’s great that the J-STRONG Foundation continues to give back.
“I approached them earlier this year, and they said they’re on board with it. It’s going to be a great event, and we have local athletes that will be playing as well, and giving back their time.”
J-STRONG was started by the family and friends of late Yarmouth teen Jadon Robinson.
Maillet says he and Robinson were great friends, and it wasn’t about winning or losing to them, it was about having fun on the ice or the field.
The camp begins today at 4 and runs through until Sunday.
