Nova Scotia Power is warning of yet another scam via text message.
This time fraudsters are claiming a refund is being issued by the company and sends the recipient a link to click.
Once there it asks the customer to select their financial institution and enter their PIN to access the refund.
The texts are fraudulent and not from the power corporation.
NS Power is reminding customers they do not ask for their personal financial information such as their PIN.
If you have clicked the link, it is best to contact your financial institution immediately.
Nova Scotia Power is also encouraging customers to call local law enforcement if this happens.
Customers can also call Nova Scotia Power’s Customer Care Centre directly to confirm the legitimacy of any call or text.
