A Yarmouth researcher has a new found interest in Acadian Heritage.
Chris Boudreau says that when he started looking into the research of the area and was surprised at the vast collection of historical archives like Father Clarence’s collections, including letters to and from France.
“There are all kinds of rare documents there that need to be preserved before they disintegrate.”
Paul d’Entremont the president of the Acadian Historical Society of West Pubnico says that many people from all across North America come to the Society for their vast database.
The society is seeking annual funding of $18,000 from the municipality to hire an archivist for the summer months.
Council will consider the request.
