Bay Ferries says early passenger bookings for the Yarmouth to Maine ferry service are way up over 2016.
CEO Mark MacDonald says bookings for ‘the CAT’ have increased five-fold.
“Our preseason revenue is tracking similar to what it did in the 2007-2008 time-frame when the former ‘CAT’ vessel carried between 90,000 and 100,000 passengers. We’re not predicting that or any other number, but we are encouraged by the numbers we’re seeing at this point.”
MacDonald says they got started late in marketing the new ferry service last year.
Last year ‘the CAT’ carried over 35,000 passengers in its first season of operation from June to October.
MacDonald says the ferry is expected to arrive in Yarmouth around May 23rd.
The first day of the sailing season is May 31st.
