Shelburne Harbour will see two A-class and two B-class ships between August 14-15.
Mayor Karen Mattatall expects many tourists in town for the event.
“We haven’t heard any numbers yet, but it’s been indicated that visitor bookings are already up in the province and in Shelburne. We are anticipating lots of people in the town this summer.”
She says they can discover just how unique Shelburne is.
“We have a wonderful blend of history and modern, and that has been indicated in the latest census, with Shelburne as the fastest growing community in Southwestern Nova Scotia.”
While the Tall Ships are in Shelburne, Barrington Lumberjack Darren Hudson will be doing demonstrations featuring ax-throwing.
They also plan to showcase local music, culture and food.
Lunenburg will see the ships first in our region from August 10-12, and Digby and Annapolis will be the last stop from August 15-16.
