Monday begins National Volunteer Week.
Many municipalities will hold ceremonies to honour those who devote themselves to their communities.
On Tuesday night at Yarmouth Town Hall, the town and municipality co-host the annual Yarmouth Volunteer Reception.
Yarmouth Recreation Director Frank Grant says 43 volunteers will be recognized.
“Various organizations have nominated volunteers to represent them for the great work they do in the community. They will receive a certificate of appreciation from Mayor Pam Mood and Warden Leland Anthony.”
The honourees will also receive certificates from MLA Zach Churchill and MP Colin Fraser and a small gift.
Two provincial volunteer representatives will also be recognized: Rachelle d’Entremont and Norman Amirault.
They received their awards at a ceremony in Halifax earlier this week.
Tuesday’s ceremony begins at 7pm.
