The Regional Executive Director of the Tri County Centre for Education tells CJLS News that a hold and secure order was issued around 8:15 this morning after school officials were notified by Yarmouth Rural RCMP about an “incident in the community.”
Ash says the hold and secure was implemented as a precautionary measure and was lifted a short time ago.
He says the students have returned to their regular routine.
In an email to the CJLS newsroom, RCMP Corporal Jennifer Clarke says they are conducting an investigation to a matter not related to the school.
She describes it as ongoing and there is no risk to public safety.
Clarke says people who live in that area of Plymouth can expect to see police vehicles and members in the area today as they continue their work with the situation.
