Renewed commitments towards reduced carbon emissions at the council of Atlantic Premiers.
The four leaders met in Saint John where they launched a new Clean Energy Partnership.
The idea is to create new jobs and support innovation.
Premier Stephen McNeil says the energy futures of all four provinces will be linked.
“One of the challenges is we’ve all been working at different paces to continue to reduce our greenhouse gas out put. Some of us have achieved it in different ways and different levels.”
He says working together will provide more opportunities for each province to make that future sustainable.
The leaders have directed their energy ministers to create a plan for how to move forward with the partnership.
It’s expected to be released by summer.
