The province will introduce nine pilot projects to boost off-highway trail connections.
This will allow drivers of all-terrain vehicles who hold a valid driver’s license to operate within the right of way on select roads.

Weymouth in Digby County made the list, and the trial will start in September.
It will allow ATV’s to travel between the two existing sections of trail.
Kevin Lombard, President of the Sou’West Nova ATV Association says it’s a great announcement.
“For Weymouth to get the pilot, it’s a big deal. ATV traffic is important to the village. It’s money coming into the downtown, into the restaurant. It’s very important for us.”
Lombard thanked the ATV Association of Nova Scotia, local Councillors and government representatives for their hard work in making this happen.
He says he was disappointed Yarmouth wasn’t named, but he’s optimistic that will happen in the near future.
“I’d love to ride in Yarmouth further down towards Rudders, but we can’t. If we can get that going, there are more tourism dollars there, and many people will take advantage of that.”
