A Lockeport processing facility is gearing up for a busy spring lobster season.
Pierce Fisheries, which is owned by Clearwater Seafood, is hiring 100 people to begin working by May 1.
Human Resources Manager, Heidi Wagner, says she will be conducting interviews at the Southwest Employment office in Shelburne on Wednesday.
“We’re going to have the job applications there but we’re willing to train and they don’t have to have any qualifications.”
People can show up to the office at 25 King Street in Shelburne between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
There are no appointments needed.
The company is hiring labour jobs at a pay of $15.61 an hour.
“Those hired will be lineworkers. Labourers that will be extracting lobster meat for production.”
Roughly 300 people currently work at Pierce Fisheries.
