“It’s been great. Everyone loves you here, you get treated so well. In my opinion, it’s the best organization, and I’m glad I got to finish my career here.”
Daley says school and hockey are in his immediate future.
Four other 20 year olds said goodbye, forwards Lawrence Lyver and Max Robitaille, defenseman Alex Mann and goalie Justin Ritcey.
17 players are eligible to return next season.
Yarmouth dropped their opening round series in five games to the Truro Bearcats.
Still, there is optimism after the Mariners improved by 44 points over last season.
Mariners Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says they are proud of the turnaround.
“We’re going in the right direction, and I think we have Yarmouth back on the map and people want to come here. We’re looking forward to next season, and for us it’s just around the corner. We’re not going to rest until we get that championship banner.”
Barron says he’ll be attending Midget Atlantics in Miramichi this weekend, and is already thinking about the MHL Draft in June.
