If the Progressive Conservatives are elected to power in the next provincial election, the contract for ferry service between Yarmouth and Portland would be reviewed.
In fact, party leader Jamie Baillie if he couldn’t get a better deal from Bay Ferries to operate the Cat ferry then he’d go back to the drawing board.
He says he would cancel the contract and go to market with a request for proposals.
“That contract is not sustainable. It really doesn’t matter if you vote Liberal or PC in the next election, there is no way that current contract will last another four years.”
Baillie says he supports a ferry service between Yarmouth and New England but one that is affordable and sustainable into the future.
The full interview with Jamie Baillie will air this Sunday morning on the Y95 CJLS Weekender at 9:04am
