The community of Weymouth are picking up the pieces after yesterday’s major fire on Main Street.
Two buildings, one known as the former trading post and the old library next door were completely destroyed.
There was also damage to two nearby apartment buildings and power lines.
In total, 11 departments responded to the blaze after the call came in around 4:20am.
Weymouth fire chief Roy Mullen tells CJLS News that the road remains closed today as the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal conducts an investigation.
Mullen says it may be difficult to determine what caused the fire.
He says power and landline service is back up and running for most everyone, but cable and internet have yet to be re-connected for some customers.
The road is expected to be closed for most of the afternoon.
