One of the organizers of the SWITCH Open Street project in downtown Yarmouth wants to see the event continue.
Yesterday, Main Street was closed to vehicles from noon to 4pm to allow organizations to set up shop for a themed gathering.
This was the end of the third year of SWITCH, and Frank Grant says next year they’ll look at different ideas.
“The planning team will review and make some recommendations moving forward. I like doing the events in July and August, mostly because of the weather factor.”
Grant says about 38 organizations took part during the two events this year.
He says attendance was steady, but down from previous years.
Grant says they’ll be more creative in how they theme the events, and maybe try new things for next year.
