The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners fell 3-1 in Dieppe this afternoon.
Chris Goreham scored the lone goal for Yarmouth in the third period after the Commandos held a 3-0 lead through two periods.
Mariners goalie Leif Hertz was named second star of the game, turning in a strong 38 save performance.
Yarmouth continues to hold a three point lead over the Amherst Ramblers for third place in the Eastlink South Division.
The Mariners have two games left in the regular season, both at home.
They’ll take on Valley Friday and South Shore on Saturday.
The Mariners are guaranteed to start the playoffs on the road, in Truro if they hold third place or at Pictou if they fall to fourth.
The Ramblers have three games left, at Campbellton Friday, home to Valley on Saturday and at Valley Sunday afternoon.
