30 curling teams were in Yarmouth over the weekend for the Provincial Under 13 Jamboree.
Nick Mosher’s team from CFB Halifax won 5-1 over Nadia Skelton from the Mayflower Curling Club in the championship game Sunday afternoon.
Mosher thanked the organizers of the tournament when his team received the first place trophy, and congratulated Skelton’s team on a great game.
Lisette Bourque with the Yarmouth Curling Club says many local junior curlers participated.
“We had a full Yarmouth team, a combination team of Barrington and Yarmouth, we also had a few players that filled in on some teams, one from Bridgewater and one from Berwick, and a few spares for other teams. Overall, the tournament went very well. We went a little late on Friday but got back on time and finished up things nicely.”
Yarmouth’s team skipped by Joseph Doucet went 1-3 in the round robin and 1-1 in the playoffs.
Barrington’s team skipped by Ryan Richardson were 3-3 overall.
It’s the second major curling event the town has hosted this season, after the Canadian Mixed Curling Championships last November.
