The Municipality of Barrington hopes to have its 2017-2018 budget finalized by the end of March.
That’s a little early but CAO Rob Frost would like numbers in as soon as possible so that funding sources for projects
can be tapped sooner rather than later.
Frost says the process this year will be about four months ahead of previous years.
“They typically didn’t approve the budget before June. I’m trying to push that a little bit quicker. It helps when you’re looking at contracting for projects in the summer and all those types of things.”
Frost says while it is early in the process the council has talked about some of the municipality’s assets that need upgrades or refurbishments.
He says they have budget meetings almost every week.
Once priorities have been determined then a draft budget will be drawn up.
