The winter weather still has its grips on Western Nova Scotia.
But road clearing crews are making some headway.
This morning even heavy equipment couldn’t keep up with the drifting snow in many areas.
Don Houston with TIR in Yarmouth says a change in precipitation helped with that.
“There was a little bit of rain mixed with the snow along the shore and that kept the snow down. We’re still mostly snow inland. We’re still staying on the main drags right now.”
Houston says their forecast models show it will be around 8 tonight before it tapers off.
“We’ll be going right through the night I imagine. Once it lets up we’ll be going onto the secondary paved and gravel roads.”
