The parking lot behind Yarmouth town hall will be reconfigured.
That’s because a storage garage under the lot needs a lot of work.
Mayor Pam Mood says the Glebe Street parking lot will not encroach into the adjacent Frost Park.
“So, in that process, the thought was whether we could go a little bit in to Frost Park. That doesn’t appear to be an option now. Frost Park is a heritage property.”
Mood says work will also be done below the parking lot.
“There’s a garage underneath that needs a lot of work an, so that parking lot will be completely redone.”
Frost Park was the earliest public burial site within the Town of Yarmouth and has been used as a public park since 1887.
