A major project is underway at Mariners Centre.
The Graves Arena is now closed to the public, as upgrades to the ice pad begin.
The last day of activities on the ice was this past Sunday.
A new concrete floor will be put in, along with the removal and inspection of the boards and glass.
Work is expected to last through the spring and summer, and cost about $1.6 million.
The Pleasant Timbermart Arena remains open.
In February, CEO Dave Tompkins said the project is essential for the long-term feasibility of the rink.
The centre says they appreciate everyone’s patience, and they’ll be back and better than ever.
