The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is deploying a team of investigators following a helicopter accident in Sussex, New Brunswick. Few details have been released about an accident involving a Robinson R-44 helicopter.
On March 28, 2026, at approximately , at 6:54 p.m., the Sussex RCMP received a request for assistance from JRCC Halifax for a missing helicopter with one person on board.
The aircraft was traveling from the Fredericton Airport to the Sussex Airport.
Police attended the area of the aircrafts last signal and assisted with a search.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 29, the main cabin of the aircraft was located, and the pilot was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There is no criminality suspected in this incident, and the investigation has been transferred to the Transportation Safety Board. Police say any further questions must be directed to them.
