Good Morning!
I have noticed lately a fair amount of Licence plates with peeling paint.
This makes them un readable to Law Enforcement , especially at night with little or no reflective paint to make them visible .
Section 20 /2 Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act, plates must be kept clean, free of aftermarket covers, and clearly visible at all times. That could be snow-covered that could be faded plate could be a tinted cover. In Nova Scotia it carries a fine of $237.50 .
What to do if yours is peeling ?
If you have a peeling licence plate, Service Nova Scotia will give you a new plate for free when you visit an Access Nova Scotia Centre.
If you have a defective licence plate, Service Nova Scotia will give you a new plate for free when you bring the defective plate to an Access Nova Scotia Centre.
If you have a defective licence plate within the e-series (EAAOO1 to EZZ999), they will replace the plate for free with or without the return of the plate. This particular range of plates have had more issues than others.
