What grinds your gears when you’re behind the wheel?
There are several things that aren’t necessarily Illegal but can easily upset other drivers.
A pet peeve is just something you may find particularly annoying, like someone who drives significantly under the limit, not using their signal etc.
On the opposite end are drivers who tailgate, pass on solid lines, or lay on their horn 0.01 seconds after the light goes green!
But by far the most universal pet peeve of recent times is headlight glare. Over the years headlights have become increasingly bright. As technology improves, todays low beams are equivalent to the high beams from only a few years ago. In college I swapped out my dads old headlight bulbs for a pair of LED’s. I was blown away by how far I could see! Nowadays those pale in comparison to modern headlights that can see much further and much, much clearer. Its to the point that Transport Canada has launched a survey asking your opinions on headlight glare at night available here.
Whatever your driving pet peeves are, remember annoyances are only temporary! Get home safe and drive a pet peeve free day tomorrow!
