It might be time to put your winter coat away and get out the rain slicker.
The first major rainfall of the season should hit Nova Scotia by Monday afternoon and last until Tuesday afternoon, according to Environment Canada.
Rainfall totals could reach 30 to 50 mm in most places, and wind gusts could reach up to 80 km/h.
The southwestern part of the province, the mainland along the Atlantic coast, and Inverness County will get hit harder than other spots. Those places have yellow rainfall warnings.
Inverness County could get wind gusts up to 120 km/h.
And while mild temperatures will melt what is left of the snow, the frozen ground will have a hard time absorbing all the water.
There will be two pulses of heavy rain. Environment Canada says there will be a break overnight into early Tuesday morning.
They say localized flooding is possible, and you should make sure your storm drains and gutters are clear of debris to limit that flooding.
