Four Yarmouth Mariners are wrapping up their junior careers this weekend.
Captain Jano Zambakdjian is one of the ’20’s.’
The defender took over as captain in January, he joined the Mariners last offseason.
When it comes to this weekend, he says he’ll be soaking it all in.
“It will be a big one, it’s the last two games and it will be pretty emotional. My family is coming from Quebec. Hopefully we’ll win these games and be able to celebrate with my teammates
The Mariners close out their year against Valley Saturday and Amherst on Sunday at Mariners Centre.
They will miss the playoffs for the second straight season.
But Zambakdjian says, they want to give back to the fans.
“It’s been a year with ups and downs, but they’ve stuck by us every single night. It means a lot to play in Yarmouth, it’s a fun place to play.”
When it comes to his future in hockey, Zambakdjian says he’s taking it day-by-day.
Goaltender Keegan Warren and forwards Ryan Loveless and Liam Dutcher are the other graduating players.
