Hart : Good Morning !
Today we celebrate a toy / Puzzle that’s probably sitting somewhere in your home on a shelf collecting dust. Grab it and give it a try today, can you solve it as you did years ago when you bought it ?
Erno Rubik made the first cube in 1974 and called it the Magic Cube.
Rubik sold the puzzle to Ideal Toy & Novelty Company, it renamed the puzzle Rubik’s Cube and started stocking store shelves with them in 1980 .
It still remains a popular toy today , with over 350 million cubes sold worldwide, It is widely considered to be the world’s best-selling toy.
Rubik’s Cube was sold to a Canadian Company ( Spin Master ) that owns classic toys like Etch A Sketch and Aerobie .
For those who haven’t seen or touched a Rubik’s Cube, it can be described as a cube made up of smaller cubes — that rotate around a central core..
The big cube begins with each of its faces made up of squares of the same colour — usually three by three by three.
The challenge is to give the cubes a spin and then try to get them back to their original configuration — a surprisingly difficult thing to do given the number of possible configurations.
When it comes to solving the puzzle , I am terrible at it , always was, always will be .
If you are like me and still can’t seem to grasp the magic of solving it , here’s a link > https://ruwix.com/the-rubiks-cube/how-to-solve-the-rubiks-cube-beginners-method/
