What would a new transit service in the Town of Digby look like?
Residents are being asked to share their opinion at a meeting on February 5.
In August, Kings Transit was discontinued through the town due to high costs.
Mayor Mike Bartlett says they’re trying to see what service will work.
“Our service from Kings Transit was only downtown from Main Street and back up again, that was it. Our thought with this one is to go around town more,” said Mayor Bartlett.
The town hired Dalhousie University to conduct a transit survey.
Bartlett says it closed in December, and had over 200 responses.
“Which is really good. I was quite surprised we had that many, as we couldn’t get counts on those who used Kings Transit.”
The meeting takes place at Digby Station on Birch Street.
Next steps include looking at bus options and financials around it.
