A man is facing assault, drugs and weapons charges after trying to burn a police officer with a blowtorch.
RCMP say it was Monday evening at a home on O. Mclean Road in Pictou County.
Officers were there investigating a stolen truck when they told the man he was under arrest.
The suspect lit a blowtorch and tried to burn the officer, who then tased him.
The 41-year-old appeared in court Tuesday but remains in custody to appear in court again.
The stolen truck was returned to its owner.
