A new scam is making the rounds in the Town of Yarmouth.
Some businesses have received calls from someone advising they’re from the Office of the Fire Marshall.
They ask to perform a fire inspection.
According to the town, it’s a scam for the fraudulent caller to gain access to businesses.
They say the office is not calling businesses, and the majority of inspections are done by municpal units during regular hours.
The town says you should always verify any request with your municipality, check ID before granting access, and call RCMP to report.
