If you’re a grunge fan, and someone ever needs CPR, it’s the perfect time to put on some Pearl Jam and get to work.
According to the American Heart Association, 90’s and 2000’s grunge can hit the perfect tempo to help save a life. The tempo needed to restart a heart without mouth to mouth breaths is between 100-120 BPM. As an example Peal Jam’s “Even Flow” has an average tempo of 105bpm, which is the correct tempo for hands only CPR. On average, most popular grunge songs like Nirvana’s “smells Like Teen Spirit” (117BPM) or Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” (1o4BPM) fall right within this range.
Not a fan of Grunge? These songs work too:
The Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive” (104 BPM)
Abba’s “dancing Queen” (100BPM)
Survivor “Eye of the Tiger” (109 BPM)
