The 19-year-old woman who is accused of stabbing a 6-year-old boy in downtown Halifax last winter, has pleaded not guilty to three charges, including attempted murder.
The province’s public prosecution service told Acadia News in an email, Elliott Chorny made the plea when she appeared in court, Thursday.
She has also pleaded not guilty to an assault and weapon charge.
It was in the afternoon of February 23, 2025, when Chorny allegedly stabbed the boy multiple times at a bus stop on Barrington Street.
The child was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Chorny underwent a psychiatric assessment earlier this year and on Tuesday of this week, opted to be tried by a judge only.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for February 9, 2026, in Supreme Court.
