Accessibility is a key focus for your local library.
The Western Counties Regional Library is looking for volunteers to sit on a new accessibility committee.
Executive director Erin Comeau says the goal is to identify and eliminate barriers in library branches.
“And to give guidance, if they have experience in certain areas, how to make our services more accessible,” said Comeau.
She says the committee will help the library comply with Nova Scotia’s goal to have all buildings accessible by 2030.
Comeau adds they want their branches to be accessible for all.
“We’re working on improving our collections, our programs and services, getting information out, the building itself and how it’s successful inside and out.”
The deadline to apply is January 7,
